The LeMat revolver was manufactured from 1855 to 1865, with approximately 5,000 units produced. This revolver was the preferred weapon of the Confederate cavalry during the Civil War, and is considered the most famous lever-action revolver from the American Civil War.
The first models were produced by John Krider in Philadelphia. Later, French-made LeMat revolvers were sent to the Confederacy by British forces, with the proof mark "Birmingam", leading to the erroneous conclusion that the guns were made in the United Kingdom.
While not considered a very accurate weapon, it was lethal at close range.
The first models were built in steel, with hickory handle, octagonal barrel, in three versions: Cavalry , Army and Navy .
CHARACTERISTICS
Dimensions: 37 cm
