The Pepperbox Revolver, so named because of its resemblance to a pepper grinder, is a repeating multiple-barrel pistol with three or more barrels aligned on a central axis.
Over time they have been manufactured with all firing systems: wick, spark, ring striker and central striker.
The "Pepperbox" was invented in 1830 and was aimed primarily at the civilian market. Its use spread rapidly and remained popular in the United States from 1830 until the Civil War.
