The latest addition to G & G's increasingly popular AEG Combat Machine line is the all-new CM16 SR series. This is a brand new AEG mid-tier budget line model that G&G has come up with this year, with some new interior and exterior improvements, this is definitely an upgrade to the original G&G Battle Combat Machine tested.The CM16 SR series is available in different lengths to suit different airsoft game scenarios.
Outwardly, this is one of the most beautiful fighting machines G&G has ever invented. From the front, the G&G CM16 SRL features an aggressive looking orange plastic suppressor that can accept a fake aftermarket muffler which will give the AEG a different look. The rail sections can be mounted on the full-key metal rail system at 45, 90 and 180 degree angles. The front and rear iron sights are adjustable, these sights can also be flipped to be used as a holder or removal from the gun to provide more space for another type of sighting system such as red dot or long range range.
The most important feature of G & G CM16 SRL are the upper and lower receivers; these are made of a new type of glass fiber reinforced polymer, which feels harder than the original Combat Machine polymer receiver material. The upper receiver is cut to be flush with the rail system, giving the gun a polished look. The receivers are also sorted to give the AEG a more modern and futuristic look than any standard AEG M4.The enhanced selector is larger than the standard selector. The charger release button and charging handle are ambidextrous for left and right handed users. The motor grip has a finger and texture construction that offers more comfort than regular motor grips. A sling holder is located on the base of the buffer tube. The G&G CM16 SRL comes with the new GOS-V3 6-position crane stock, which is also a battery compartment; this stock can hold a large variety of nunchuck (butterfly) batteries. To access the battery compartment, simply press the button on the top of the stock and rotate the heel. Towards the rear of the stock is a slot for the QD shoe holder, and a backup battery compartment for a flashlight or red sight is located just below this slot for the QD shoe holder. The caseback is thick and rubberized, which feels very comfortable when wearing the AEG.
Internally, AEG G&G CM16 SRL use version 2 gearbox with some new parts.The V2 gearbox is compatible with a wide range of aftermarket upgrade and repair components. All AEG G&G CM16 SRL are also equipped with a microswitch and a combination of programmable mosfets, which improves the trigger response immensely comparable to normal fighting machines. The Mosfet unit is located inside the buffer tube; this mosfet can be programmed to switch from full auto mode to 3-round fire burst mode.
Changing fire modes can be done on the go by simply switching the fire mode to semi, then hold the trigger for 10 seconds and the full auto function will switch to 3 rounds of burst. To return to fully automatic mode, simply repeat the steps above or unplug the battery for a few seconds to restore normal.
It is recommended to power this AEG using a 9.6V NiMH battery.You can also use an 11.1V Lipo battery for this AEG to get faster rate of fire, faster response and faster burst in mode of triple burst fire, although this will result in increased wear.
The hop up, inner barrel assembly in the G&G CM16 SRL consists of a 260mm aluminum inner barrel, a standard G&G plastic hop up unit and a green G&G hook. All these parts can be replaced with compatible aftermarket upgrade parts.
The G&G CM16 SRL runs at an average of 330-350 FPS with 20g BBs. With this FPS and barrel length, the G&G CM16 SRL is an ideal AEG for CQB or Close Quarters scenarios that require room space and fast movement but also descent for medium range battles.
