Training with Edge
Do you need motivation to complete the last few kilometers on the reels during your indoor training?
Edge 520 offers this innovative feature when paired with ANT + protocol trainers.
For example, if you want to train with an average power of 240 watts, just set the goal on Edge 520,
start pedaling and the rollers will automatically adjust to your goal.
You can also follow a route created by another cyclist and download it from Garmin Connect,
virtually competing against the athlete you want to compare yourself with, because the rollers will adjust the pedaling resistance based on the slope and altitude data of the downloaded route.
Paired with a power sensor, Edge 520 will offer you another set of features, such as FTP power threshold and watt / kg detection, and cycling dynamics.
A power threshold test built into the tool will help you determine your reference data to keep during your training on the rollers or on the road.
Pair the heart rate monitor³ and the 520 will calculate your VO2 max estimate and post-run recovery time accordingly,
which indicates how much time must pass before you can tackle another demanding endeavor.

We have optimized the screen so that you can get the most out of your viewing taking into account the compact size of the 520.

A bike that is always connected
Edge 520 is compatible with ANT + sensors, including Varia bike radar and Varia4 bike lights, speed, cadence, heart rate, Edge and VIRB remotes, and compatible scales.
It also integrates with Shimano Di25 electronic shifting systems to display the current gear on the screen.
Edge 520 is also compatible with ANT + power meters,
including those of the Vector series.
Smartphone and connectivity
When paired with a compatible phone and the Garmin Connect Mobile app, Edge 520 offers real-time tracking, smartphone alerts, social media sharing,
the weather and wireless uploads.
Once your ride is complete, the data can be automatically sent to Garmin Connect, our online community where you can save, plan and share your rides.
